Judge John Blawie asked State's Attorney Richard Colangelo Jr., and attorney Norm Pattis to file briefs on the issue before he makes a ruling. He also did not rule on dismissing the charges against Fotis Dulos.
Jennifer Farber Dulos, a mother of five from New Canaan, went missing after dropping off her children at school. Since then, police have conducted an intensive search that included searching homes, ponds, parks, and a large garbage facility.
Fotis Dulos, 52, and his girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, 44, are out on $500,000 bail on charges of tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution charges for allegedly dumping bags containing items with Jennifer Dulos' blood into Hartford garbage cans and dumpster.
In another matter, the judge denied a request to move the GPS monitoring device from Fotis Dulos' ankle to his wrist but did say they could change legs. He also denied a request for Fotis Dulos to contact Troconis.
The judge also granted the defense's request to have two of Fotis Dulos' vehicles returned.
New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro said last week that all active searches have ended as investigator focus on following up on more than 1,200 tips and 80 videos they have received in connection with the case, as well review evidence.
